Those of you who read this regularly will know that one of the simple joys of my life is to get my washing dry naturally outside. However I have today received a complaint, yes, an actual complaint! Not in writing (oh, there would have been trouble!). Dick just said over breakfast this morning that using his towel had been like rubbing himself with sandpaper! I must admit that towels are softer when dried in the tumble drier, but they're not that bad. So today I have dried them outside again, but just put them in the machine for 10 minutes to soften them up a bit. Hope he notices the difference!
The world around Howes Cottage is starting to get really colourful, the oilseed rape is so tall in some places that I can hardly see over it. The garden is coming along nicely too, and the meadows are full of Cowslips, Primroses, Bugle and the first Orchids. All of this colour is being reflected in the necklaces I have been making this week. I must point out that I am also capable of making more muted items, so don't panic if multicolour is not your thing.
